Many wheat fields in Delaware County are now at Feekes Stage 6 and should flower in 29 to 33 days. Common weeds found are purple deadnettle, pennycress and chickweed.
Currently there is no disease present, but continue to look for powdery mildew and rust. Both of those diseases are being found south and west of Ohio.
If diseases start to show up you will want to plan on a fungicide application like Twinline at flagleaf emergence in mid-May.
